Exercises, New Work, etc.!!!

I have started several new series of drawings/paintings:

1. An ink self-portrait every day onto a 3 x 5 card, sometimes painted in watercolor
2. Four - 2 minute
(-ish) scribble-creatures almost every morning, with titles
 and
3. Scribble-based intuitive oil paintings on wood panels (see previous post)

I use pen and brush in india ink, gel pen, color pencil, watercolor and oil on paper and wood.
Occasional media: coffee and tea, when I'm too lazy to walk the 20 feet to get fresh water.

Today's Scribbles

Lynda Barry (format)  and Wally Neibart inspired daily exercise - @2 minutes apiece.
I add titles when the drawing is done.
Your scribble-challenges are welcome! Send to ARFHISTORY@gmail.com.
I will publish drawings made from selected scribbles on this blog.

SCRIBBLINGS

Here is a page of scribbles turned into drawings. Each took less than 5 minutes. (I added the red so that the original scribbles would be easier to see for this particular drawing).
My father (who was also an artist) and I used to do these all the time, when I was young. He (and I, later) went to libraries and nursing homes and had audience members come up and make a scribble, then watch and laugh as he turned them into silly drawings.
I use this exercise in my classes sometimes, to help unleash students' imaginations.
Lynda Barry's Writing the Unthinkable workshop reminded me of this amazing exercise in creativity.

Dancing Bee

Just a doodle. I've decided to start posting these.
The object is to free my mind - and my hand, to loosen up
my line a bit. Let's see what happens...
